25 Oct INTRECCINCANTIERE 11: THE AWARD CEREMONY
The eleventh edition of Intreccincantiere, the prestigious contest promoted by Manifattura di Domodossola in partnership with Lineapelle and Banco BPM, has successfully come to an end. The award ceremony took place on Thursday, October 23rd, in the charming hall of the Bagatti Valsecchi Museum.
During the event, young talents in the fields of fashion, leather goods, footwear, and interior design were recognized for their creativity. Each winner received a commemorative plaque and a €500 prize offered by the company.
Winners of this edition:
- Footwear: Benedetta Braghetti (Accademia Costume & Moda, Rome)
- Fashion Design: Simone Di Vita (Raffles, Milan)
- Leather Goods: Andreana Guida (Accademia IUAD, Naples)
- Interior Design: Beatrice Ilari (Poliarte, Ancona)
The School Award, worth €1,000 and introduced in the previous edition, was presented to the renowned Tokyo Mode Gakuen, recognized for the quality of its submissions and its strict adherence to the contest guidelines.
The ceremony opened with a welcome speech by Camilla Bagatti Valsecchi, President of the Museum, who highlighted the shared pursuit of beauty and historical value that links her family’s legacy with that of Manifattura di Domodossola.
The event also featured a discussion on the current challenges faced by the fashion industry, focusing on future opportunities for young talents. In this regard, Fulvia Bacchi (General Director of UNIC and CEO of Lineapelle) commented:
“Lineapelle and Manifattura di Domodossola support young people in a tangible way, not just through media exposure.”
The success of Intreccincantiere confirms the partners’ ongoing commitment to innovation and education, key drivers for the competitiveness and heritage of Made in Italy.
“The luxury market is undergoing a significant transformation — returning to its roots, where the pursuit of absolute excellence takes priority. Within this shift, I see great opportunities, especially for young Italian artisans and entrepreneurs who, as our country’s history teaches us, have the potential to stand out internationally,” said Domenico De Angelis, Deputy General Manager of Banco BPM.
“Intreccincantiere perfectly embodies this evolution, celebrating talent, quality, and creativity through a prestigious competition that gives voice to the new generations. These are values our Bank deeply shares and proudly supports.”
Matteo Cavelli (President of Tessilivari and jury member) continued by emphasizing the need for new talent:
“Historic companies are now facing a generational transition — and they need you. What matters most is to give your product the value it deserves.”
Marcello Foa (Journalist and University Professor) offered a strategic perspective on the global market:
“Globalization processes are changing, and major fashion groups — the industry giants — are struggling to adapt. Small is therefore becoming beautiful again, and SMEs with solid foundations have the ability to quickly adjust to change with clarity and vision.”
In his closing remarks, Giuseppe Polli, third generation of Manifattura di Domodossola, reminded the audience that Italy ranks fourth in the world for exports, highlighting the many opportunities available to young designers.
Registrations for the next edition of Intreccincantiere will open in November.
